Looking to eat in Brisbane? We’ve got you covered with the ten best restaurants in the city!
Whether you’re visiting a city for the first time, or you’re a local, it can be challenging to figure out which restaurants stand out above and beyond the others. Yes, I agree that discovery is part of the fun, but sometimes, the disappoint of a bad meal can outweigh discovery!
There are so many places to choose from when you’re new in town— Queen Street, James Street, New Farm, Spring Hill, Eagle Street Pier, Ada Lane, Roma Street Parkland, King Street. You can try out a Mexican restaurant or a nice quaint restaurant that uses local produce. The options are endless if you’re looking for a great place to dine. Don’t you wish you had a list of some of the top restaurants in the Brisbane area?
This is what we did. We put together a list of Brisbane’s best restaurants, included the best new restaurants we’ve tried in the past year. That way, you get to discover which one you love best. All of them, though, are among the best of the best in the city. We hope you’ll enjoy them. Take a look.
1. Bachus
We featured Bachus breakfast menu as one of the best in the city. In this article, we extend that recommendation by including the restaurant in our list of the ten best restaurants in Brisbane. It deserves it!
Nothing about Bachus will have you questioning its status. From is lavish bronze themed interior, to its ultra-professional crew, from its wine bar to the food. And speaking of the food, as you might expect only the very best chefs are in charge of the set menu. Massimo Speroni, the chef Bachus was poached from multiple Michelin award-winning restaurants. Rest assured your food is in safe hands.
The wine list is healthy, and as for prices, except your plate to cost you forty dollars and upwards.

2. The Wolfe
Another among the great Brisbane restaurants, The Wolfe is one of the few restaurants that chase the ever-elusive Australian cuisine. From customer feedback collected, I’d say that their iteration is pretty darn close to defining it. For a unique dining experience at The Wolfe, expect to options such as kangaroo loin. Even their beverages pay homage to Australia- their wines are as much as possible sourced within the country.

3. Otto Brisbane
Awarded the title “Best Italian Restaurant In Queensland” by Delicious, Otto Brisbane had to be included in our list. The restaurant’s menu isn’t complicated. In fact, in their own words, their cooking is unashamedly simple. All ingredients are locally sourced from local farmers too. To take a look at the restaurant’s menu, use the link shared with you above.
What of their wine list? It’s the best. No literally. It won the 2019 wine list award given by Gourmet Travellers Wine Awards. And their pasta dishes? Well, you’ll never go wrong with fresh pasta at this restaurant for your dinner out or date night. This restaurant is the best place for Italian food loves.

4. Restaurant Dan Arnold
Dan Arnold is another great example of a chef staying true to his roots. He grew up in Brisbane, trained in France at a two time Michelin star restaurant. Even while there, Dan wasn’t satisfied. He looked forward to the day he would use his skills to bring Australia’s cuisine to life. Restaurant Dan Arnold is the result of that. Expect exquisite modern Australian cuisine in this restaurant.

5. Joy Restaurant
In my opinion, Joy Restaurant is a must-try for Brisbane visitors who want to understand the city’s spirit. The intimacy where you’re sitting right next to the chef allows for amazing conversation! That was Tim & Sarah Scott’s goal when they opened this restaurant in 2019. At Joy, you get to be part of the exciting creative process that the two promise. In fact, that is the restaurants selling point. Each day is new, and you can’t predict what will happen when you step into the restaurant.
Consider Joy for that special occasion and you’ll have a good time!

This Brisbane CBD restaurant is another great option. Ever since its opening in 2014, this restaurant has risen to be one of the best restaurant/bars in the city. The food is great, so is the drink. 10. Donna Chang
This must be the most elegantly decorated Chinese restaurant in town. That notwithstanding, the food really is the star of the show. The open style kitchen allows guests the excitement of watching the processor as some may say the magic of your food being prepared. Private dining is also an option adding to the allure.
